Drinking the Crazy Sauce

We have our share of silly days. Most days the kids do or say something that has Joe or I rolling. I'd like to say the kids get the crazys from Joe but, having had my share of silly days, I guess I will take responsibility. Here is a peek at a few crazy moments caught on film in the past couple of weeks.

My wedding dress found it's way back to my house this week. I couldn't resist trying it on, and while it was on I found it hard to resist blacking out once I got it zipped and found my ability to breath greatly diminished. Chloe, I think because she was a little embarrassed for me, kept running around in her panties mocking me. What a sweet child. She did ask to take a picture with me though and, as I will probably never try the dress on again, forgave her mockery and took this: This picture cracks me up every time I look at Chloe's eyes. Hilarious

Chloe and her friend Libby playing dress up very creatively. The look Chloe is going for here is scary. I think it's just plain cute
Lately Chloe refuses to wear her tennis shoes with ankle socks. If we are to get her to wear them, they must be worn with knee socks.
In honor of spirit week at school, Chloe took the crazy hair day challenge to heart when she came up with the idea to do rainbow colored hair. By the time it was done we had to run out the door, but here are some shots of the crazy work in progressAfter bathing the other night, Chloe decided she wanted to channel the hair monsterChloe is not the only crazy child in our house. Her brother, with some help from cousin, Luke, often bring the crazy as wellNoah's favorite pajama lookOkay, that was the only crazy picture of Noah I could find. Maybe the crazys are a girl thing. Instead I show you a picture of handsome Noah who begged to wear a tie to church and let mem take a picture with her growing boyI can't finish the post without the littest crazy, who is one of the happiest little guys I know.If this is what crazy looks like, I'm not sure I want to be normal!

Mirror, Mirror

I neglected to post pictures of the day we finally cut Adam's hair. Looking through them I now realize it's because none of them turned out well enough to share for one reason or another. The following pictures are nothing impressive either in the picture quality, but I think you will find the subject of the photos more than makes up for the photographers skills, or lack there of.

Before AfterI think he looks handsome and, with similar haircuts, even more like his dad. Apparently, he thinks pretty highly of the new shorter hair too, as he can't get enough at looking himself in the mirror.

Family

There is a lot to update: crazy hair days, stay at home days, soccer games for old and young, weddings, and plain old random random fun, but because we've been building all these fun memories, I haven't had a lot of time to update. For now, a few pictures of my favorite people who make even the most boring days so totally worth it!

Los Llaves

Scene: Mom is gathering her two youngest boys, getting ready to head out the door to pick up daughter Chloe from her second day of kindergarten. As she helps son Noah with his shoes, she turns to see baby Adam making a beeline for his new favorite toy - the toilet. Knowing that Chloe and Noah have not been very reliable flushers, Mom makes a mad dash to grab Adam before his little hands enter the cool waters colored like lemonade. As one hand closes around Adam, Mom's other hand goes for the toilet handle, hoping that, should she not lift Adam in time, at least the yellow waters will recede before he acheives his water playing goals. Suddenly Mom gasps, for as the water swirls aways, so do her keys (los llaves) which have in the hustle fallen from her hands along with the hopes for a relaxing remainder of the day.

Fiction? Myth? Urban Legend? No, this story comes straight from the experience of yours truly. I, along with the tow truck driver and Ford service manager, am still unsure as to how everything lined up to create this perfect storm of stress, but here I sit after watching my car be towed away (you apparently need to have the car to be able to make a new key for it), and scrambling to get someone to pick up Chloe, with a few minutes to myself wondering if I should laugh or cry. I choose neither. Instead I choose to blog my good luck as a memory hopefully none will ever experience as I shake my head and sigh.

School Daze

Whew. I'm exhausted. Today marked the first day of preschool for Noah and the first day of Kindergarten for Chloe. Noah, to be in the same class as friends is going in the mornings twice a week, and Chloe, for my sanity in getting her ready and out the door daily is going to afternoon kindergarten. Those two days where they both go to school are going to become interesting as the year progresses, but right now they are just exciting.

This post was titled with the "daze" because that is what I am feeling as the first day comes to a close, a little dazed, wondering where the time has flown. Suprisingly I was not as emotional today as I was on the day we first sent Chloe to preschool, but I was still struck by the fact that yet again, we are entering another growing phase of life, and that these steps will continue to come, whether I want them to or not. So for your viewing pleasure, my memory keeping, and prefacing this by saying that my kids are way to cute for their own good, here is a view into school, day one:
