7 months old. That's how old Adam is now! 7 months old! I simply can't process how fast time has gone and yet it feels like Adam has been part of our family forever.
Adam is generally a happy little guy - and little he still is. at his six month appointment (which he just had last week) he weighed a whopping 14 lbs. I can't say that I mind having a lighter baby to carry but I will breath a little sigh of relief when his weight actually shows up on growth charts in correlation with his age.
Some other age related Adam facts are:
he loves to laugh and smile and watches everything we do
he is just barely fitting into 3-6 month clothing
we just started feeding him rice cereal (the pediatrician suggested we wait until 9 months to start him on food because milk has so many more calories, but he was just so ready we had to do it) and he loves it
he rolls over...sometimes
he's not quite ready to sit on his own
he loves toys, but wishes he could get a better handle on holding them
His doctor tells us he looks great and continues to develop and, even though he's still small, continues to grow at a steady rate. If he were born on his due date he would be just shy of 5 months old, so developmentally he is right in between, which is good and he should continue that way until he catches up at about 18 months.
We love having him in our home. I love kissing his cute face. The kids love playing with him and getting him to laugh. He makes our home a better place to be...
Except when it's a smelly place to be. I had to document this because it kills me that the kids complain about Adam's stinky diapers but they can't help but sit there and watch every time I change him. It cracks.me.up.

Another child I love had a rough time last night. We were eating dinner and the kids, having finished, were harrassing Adam, playing with each other, and running around. Noah was wearing some new sweats that were a little long and a little slippery. As he ran he slipped on the hem of his pants and fell, having no time to get his hands under him, face first onto the tile.
Blood. There was a lot of it. As we dabbed at it, we realized that he had fallen on the edge of the tile and had a nice wide slash across his chin. Joe, having just gotten home from an eventful day at work, quickly got ready and took him, despite his pleading with us that he was okay, that it didn't hurt, to not make him go to the hospital, and to please take him back inside the house, to the emergency room. I was hopefully that maybe the cut would just require a butterfly bandage and a pain pill, instead he got four stiches and a lollipop. Joe said he handled most of the process better than he handled the first of the accident, but reached his limit when they went to trim the stitches. As a result of him not keeping his head still the string of the stitches are a little long, but well hidden under his chin.
Noah acts as though nothing happened, the stitches don't seem to bother him and he doesn't seem to be in any pain. We'll see how he feels about that as we leave tomorrow to spend the week in California and Disneyland, and he's reminded that stitches have to stay dry. Good times.
